Heartland Athletic Services, Inc. would like to enhance the sound traditions of the sport of running by encouraging sportsmanship and offering participation in track & field and cross country competitions for youth in the Kansas City metro areas and the Midwest. Youth events in track & field and cross country take place in 2-year age divisions, from 10 & under through 17-18. We also help promote youth athletes to compete in NIKE Youth XC and Track National meets.

2012 Heartland Youth Track (HYTC)
400m Time Trial Meet
The heartland youth track club hosted their 400m TT meet on May 16. HYTC had 23/28 youth girls and 26/32 youth boys that competed in their annual 400m TT meet to kick off the season. Our first meet will be the Heartland TNT meet on June 7th.
2012 4th Annual Heartland Thursday Night Track (TNT) Summer Meet Series - Meet information now available-
The Birmingham girls of the Heartland Youth Track Club opened their youth outdoor track & field season at the Salina South youth track meet on April 28 in Salina, KS. The Birmingham girls used the meet as a pre-conditioning meet for the upcoming summer season.

The Heartland Youth Track Club (HYTC) is starting its 4th outdoor season and now accepting enrollment forms for the upcoming 2012 outdoor track & field season for youth ages 6-14 athletes.
The HYTC participates in 8-10 local, district, regional and National outdoor meets each year and will kick off the 2012 outdoor season at the "4th Annual Heartland TNT Meet" on June 7, 2012 at St Teresa's Academy in Kansas City, MO.
The HYTC season starts on May 14 and the enrollment forms must be submitted by May 1, 2012.
Kristen Birmingham lead the contingent of 5 Heartland YOUTH TRACK CLUB team members at the 2012 AAU indoor National Championships in Bloomington, Illinois on Feb 10-12.
- Kristen and her teammates of Jordan Birmingham, Emmalyn Downs, Shelby Sack and Conner Sweeney competed at AAU indoor national Championships and each of the athletes set personal records (PR's) and finished in the top 7 in their age groups. The top 8 finishers medal at the AAU Indoor National Championships.
Kristen scored 28 points and won the TEAM Championship for the Sub-Bantam age group. An amazing solo-performance by Kristen.

I have watched you tell all the kids what a great job they did with such encouraging words even though they didn't get the times they wanted. You truly are a great coach. - Kyle Bremer signed his letter of intent with University of Missouri Kansas City in Kansas City, MO. Kyle is joined by his parents Mr. Kevin Bremer & Mrs. Tammy Bremer during his signing on Feb 1, 2012. He will start his track & field and cross country career at UMKC in the fall of 2012.

The HYTC season starts on Nov 28 and the enrollment forms must be submitted by Nov 21, 2011.
Joe Walton of the Heartland XC Club wins the Boys 5k Open Division at the 2011 Nike Cross Midwest XC Regional Championships in Terre Haute, IN. Joe's winning time was 16:20.80 in very windy conditions of 27-30mph. The open division consisted of 412 athletes and it was the largest field in the history of the NXN Midwest XC Regional Championships.
The NXN Midwest XC Regional Championships includes the following states in the Midwest regional: IN - IL - OH - MI and MO. Joe lead the Heartland XC Club team that included the following members at the 2011 NXN Midwest XC Regional Championships.

Junior Olympians
Kristen Birmingham lead the Heartland Youth Track Club with a 7th place finish in the 100m dash Sub-Bantam division (age 7-8). Kristen became an All American Junior Olympian at the USATF Junior Olympic National Championships in Wichita, KS by placing in the top 8th. She set a personal best of 15.07 in the 100m dash. She competed against 46 qualifiers and she reached the 100m dash final by placing 4th in the semifinal round with a time of 15.24. Congratulations to Kristen Birminham.
The Heartland Youth Track Club qualified 36 athletes to the 2011 USATF Junior Olympic Championships on July 26-31 in Wichita, KS and earned the status of 2011 USATF Junior Olympians.
